Tinder + Skynet = Digital Cupid?

TinTinder Sees Artificial Intelligence As The Future Of Loveder, the popular social dating app which has made more than 20 billion pairings since its launch in 2012, is looking to the future. Not content with its now 50 million active users having to swipe left or right, chairman and founder Sean Rad believes AI could be the future of both his company and love.

As reported by the BBC, Tinder chairman Sean Rad recently spoke at the Startup Grind Global conference on the potential of AI for his customers:

“In five years time, Tinder might be so good, you might be like “Hey Siri, what’s happening tonight?’

“And Tinder might pop up and say ‘There’s someone down the street you might be attracted to. She’s also attracted to you. She’s free tomorrow night. We know you both like the same band, and it’s playing – would you like us to buy you tickets?’… and you have a match.”

Tinder Sees Artificial Intelligence As The Future Of LoveAs admitted by Sean Rad, the prospect of AI making pairings for you does seem a bit scary. But, it also might just be the key to finding better potential matches. With AI able to comb through customer profiles faster than any human, it could create perfect pairings based on interests, musical taste, etc. without a user having to swipe endlessly left or right. That said, AI does seem to predict a future where taking the matter of love into your own hands is no longer a thing. Why try to find a match yourself when you can just enter some information and have an AI do it for you?
